This project is a county wide initiative to address the critical need for Artificial Intelligence professional development for educators in Oakland County’s 28 school districts. The project is intended to provide professional development and AI resources to help educators across the county effectively integrate AI into their classrooms. By addressing the current gap in AI professional development, educators will be empowered to transform their classrooms, inspire student creativity, and ultimately improve educational outcomes.
This project offers every district the opportunity to send a team of educators to the MACUL conference which will be held in Detroit this year. The MACUL conference is a premier professional learning event for cutting-edge technology integration. The cohort of educators who participate in the conference will receive a one year subscription to an AI tool that can be used in their classrooms. The Oakland Schools Technology Integration Team will provide ongoing support for the cohort and facilitate sharing of their professional learning. By using a county wide approach in the project design, the proposed project will have broad impact and effectively “jump start” innovation with AI in schools across the county.
