Grant recipient: Wayne State University
This is a project to improve the mathematics courses for elementary pre-service teachers. Through collaboration with Henry Ford Community College, students at both institutions will use digital tools to create journals as they explain their mathematical understanding for specific tasks. They will also reflect on and communicate their mathematical understanding. This innovative practice will strengthen pre-service teachers’ mathematical thinking and further develop deep content knowledge.
