Wayne RESA has undertaken a multi-year initiative to implement maker-centered learning and STEM education in both classroom and out-of-class settings throughout Wayne County. The RESA grant will engage educators in professional learning, establishing Maker-STEM programs in local schools and inspiring curriculum innovation. Key features of the projet include: supporting a new phase of professional learning opportunities that increase capacity for implementing Maker-STEM in local school districts; supporting expansion of the STEAM Innovation Lab at Wayne RESA for use by teachers and students; purchase Maker-STEM materials for classroom use through a lending library and the Professional Learning in a Box series; and support the sixth annual Maker-STEM Summit for K-12 educators, attended by 1,000 educators each year.
